Forrestville Valley Announces Mr. Diduch as Teacher of the Year

On Thursday, May 25th Forrestville Valley C.U.S.D. #221 announced their prestigious Teacher of the Year Award at their annual end of the year breakfast.  This year's winner was Mr. Denny Diduch.  Mr. Diduch is a High School Social Sciences Teacher, as well as, the Head Coach of the two time State Champion Football Team.  Mr. Diduch recently completed his 20th year in the district all of them at Forreston Jr/Sr High School.

During his tenure, Mr. Diduch has developed positive relationships with all of the staff, students, and community members of Forreston, while holding his students and self to the highest expectations.  He has demonstrated a tremendous ability to model a love of critical thinking and research, as students explore cultures of the past and present, by using current Best Practices and always having his students "Think" and communicate the important "Why" they believe something to be true.  He continues not to allow complacently in the classroom by always challenging his students to be well read, well i informed, and think outside the box.  Mr. Diduch continues to push his students to pursue their dreams and goals no matter what the obstacles.

Forreston Jr/Sr High School's principal Travis Heinz said, "We are very fortunate to have Mr. Diduch, who truly does care for the success of all of his students.  He does a wonderful job of providing multiple opportunities for the parents and community members to partner with him and his students.  He is always willing to go the extra mile to get h is students excited about learning."  Superintendent Sheri Smith commented, "Mr. Diduch is a true leader in the region when it comes to having our students critically think and discuss both past and present events.  His work with all of his students makes the entire Forrestville Valley Family proud."

Mr. Diduch resides in Freeport with his wife Jess, and children Cadence, Autumn, Rudy, and Treyden.
