Mrs. Schiesher - Classroom Spotlight

Wow!  It is hard to believe we are already in November.  This year has been a fast-paced one.  Fifth graders have been growing in so many ways this year!  New responsibilities is probably one of the biggest changes for students.  Students have taken on leadership roles throughout the building, such as becoming hall monitors, bus helpers, morning announcers, and tray helpers! They also had to take on planning their first class party for Halloween!  I've been very impressed with how seriously they have taken these on!

Fifth grade has also had special events this year!  They have enjoyed homecoming week with dress-up days, Ag Day, Football Readers, Cardinal Code Celebrations, and having Matt Wilhelm from AGT visit.  Through all of these events, students had a blast, while also maintaining their Cardinal Code integrity.

In the English Language Arts classroom, we recently wrapped up our fiction unit.  Students became experts in comparing and contrasting characters and story elements.  In addition, we have been reviewing and practicing grammar in our narrative writing!  Boy, do fifth graders love to use interjections in their writing!  Fifth grade is off to a great start, and I'm looking forward to the remainder of the year!  This is an AMAZING group of fifth graders!
